ACER notebook BSOD 0x0000008E

Specs: Windows 7, AMD Athlon64 x2 TK-55 / 2gb DDR2
I am getting a BSOD when ever I try to start vista normally. The error I am getting is below.

STOP: 0x0000008E (0XC0000005, 0x81df5c19, 0x94a5a8c4, 0x00000000)

I also noticed the bios is not up to date, but when I download the new BIOS I get a weird flash error, before the BIOS program even loads. Seems like a file is corrupted on Acer's site.

Where do I find the dump files so I can post them up too. Any help yall could give would be great! Thanks

The bios being out of date will have nothing to do with the operating system throwing out an error code.

To be honest with you.. it's best that you get rid of Windows Vista anyway, it's a bomb waiting to blow up from minute one. Good thing is, if you have Vista before, you system can handle Windows 7. You can find it online with the OEM version for about $120.

I know this doesn't exactly fix your problem, but I try to steer away from Vista however I can.
