Acer Aspire Vista Basic F8 options

Acer Aspire ast180-ud380a desktop

Specs: Windows XP, Pentium Dual core 3 GB
My Acer T180 has Vista Basic. I tap F8 on start up I wanted to run the memory tool. I selected the first option repair your computer. Nothing happens. I thought F8 then repair your computer went into a menu and you would have several choices to run. Does Vista Basic even include these? Or could it be because I have acornis true image secure zone and an F11 recovery from that? The way I did the acornis backup is I ran the acer recovery DVD. It finished. I rebooted and booted to the acornis CD made the secure zone activated the F11 and then made the backup to the secure zone. So now I basically have my own version of a recovery partition if I ran the F11 recovery it will run the windows setup after it finishes. Anyway could the F11 disable the F8 repair option?

No safe mode is independent from what you just described. A windows NT system will always be able to use the safe mode options (with some changes under very certain circumstances)

I am NOT talking about safe mode option. I am talking about the 1st option in Windows Vista "Repair your Computer" When you select the repair your computer you got a menu with several options. One would be a memory diagnostics. And please DO NOT suggest memtest I am very aware of memtest. I am not looking to run the memory test. There is also a startup repair and a few other options and some OEM's put there recovery option in this menu I am referring to. How do I post an image on this forum? Here is a link to what the menu looks like.

I guess Acer takes away the F8 option. I ran the recovery on another drive and let it set up windows then tried. Still did the same. I not have a new computer so it does not matter now.
