What would cause a delay in going to my Home Page, by clicking the House Icon in the tool bar, to cause a delay in opening for around 1 to 2 minutes? I am using Vista Home Premium 64 with Firefox. It has been like this for several months. Although, if I double click on the House Icon, it will open faster about 80% of the time. I don't believe I had this problem when I was using Windows XP and Firefox. I've gone over all of my settings and have been unable to find anything that could improve this. Any comments?

1 Using 32 bit s/w on 64 bit can cause a delay sometimes.
2 In firefox there is sometimes a delay before it actually
accesses the server. So try the stuff posted on this link. I recommend doing it all. It worked awesomely for me when i
used to use firefox.

Thanks Ruisu for your response. Not only did I already optimized my Firefox with what your link indicated, I also used Firetune for my Firefox 3.5. Come think of it, it seem to have started when I got my new computer with Vista 64 pre-installed. Could be a Vista thing, I don't know. We'll continue to look into this. One thing I haven't tried is using Firefox in Ubuntu, which I dual boot on this computer. We'll try that out. Thanks again for your response.

No problems buddy.
One more thing. 32x software sometimes runs a little slow on
64bit processors. You should try using a 64-bit edition (If your
not already) of firefox.

http://wiki.mozilla-x86-64.com/Fire...

I'm familiar with ubuntu also and I know that using a 64-bit
edition of it on your laptop (Which obviously has a 64-bit
processor, to be pre-installed with 64-bit vista. If not well im
speechless because i didn't think it ran on 32-bit h/w)

If you don't have the 64-bit edition of ubuntu (Shocked to see
that its now 9.4 and i'm still using 7.10 0.o) then you can
download it from here. Make sure you scroll down and select
the 64-bit check box or else your going to get the 32-bit ISO)

Best of luck and I'm sorry about the delay.
