wmp9 won't work right after restore disc and

I ran my restore disc (not the total reformating option) because the sound in wmp 9 on ME stopped and I couldn't play play CD's anymore. I tried many things for many days to fix it. I finally used the restore disc. The sound came back and I can play CD's. My labtec camera works again also. I
reinstalled it. The purpose of this thread is to ask how to get wmp to work right. I used the upgrade page and it installed wmp9. However, these following problems occurred. The media guide which it opens to has a box in the screen with the name of many countries including the United States. Some of the fonts are Greek and other languages I guess. When I click United States the box and the country names don't go away. I can't reach the radio tuner . When I go to the radio tuner section it always has a page that says 'page cannot be displayed' along with suggestions to try to display what ever is supposed to be displayed I guess. I hit the refresh button with no results. I tried reinstalling wmp 9 but have the same problem. I can play the Media Library. That shows up nicely and audio videos play. In the media library there are some radio stations I can play. Anyone ever have this problem or especially, does anyone know how to fix it? Thank you

I don't know what part of which thread you mean. I downloaded the wmp install you recommended and It said that it already exists do I want to overwrite it? I said yes then I went to my program files to delete the present wmp file but it wouldn't let me. I'll try reinstalling it again. Maybe you were refering to something else. Anyway do you think installing an older version than upgrading it might work? Sorry if I can't quite understand you right.

Hi, I got it working. What happened was that after I finally could install IE 6 I found out that there were 7 other critical updates one of which is for the scripts on wmp. I installed theupdates and everything is working. I had installed all the updates before but when I was able to install IE 6 I didn't get a message that said there were more updates. I just happened to think of looking on the update page to check it.
