Recover a CPBACKUP FILE

Specs: windows me
I have one cpbackup file I need to restore. The file is from 1995. I need someone who could restore it for me. This fie is a design which is very important to me.

You'll need someone with the correct Central Point Backup software (part of PCTools from Central Point - see link below). Problem is, if this is a backup which spans multiple disks, then you'll likely need all of the disks, with the original DOS-based CPBackup, to restore the file.

What's the file extension? (If a file is named filename.ext for example, 'ext' is the extension.) Maybe there's another program that will open it should you not have the central point software.

The ext. is .001. That is it.

Apparently PC DOS 6.3 includes the cpbackup utility. I have those disks around here somewhere but probably won't dig them out for a few months. But if you can install pc dos 6.3 on a stand-alone machine or set up a virtual machine as T-R-A's link suggests that would be another possible solution.
