What is "mmo?" Did the sound ever work? Do you have a Volume icon in the System tray? Is the soundcard indeed installed? Did you check Device manager to see if there are any conflicts?

Ok. An mmo is a massive multiplayer online game. The sound used to work until a few days ago. A day has passed since i posted the help request and now when i hover over the volume icon it says no audio Output device is installed what do i do?

How do i check/go to the device manager?

Right-click My Computer, Properties, Advanced, Device Manager.

Sounds like the sound card is no longer installed. If it's listed in the Device manager showing a conflict, remove it and reboot the computer. If that doesn't work, you'll have to add a hardware device, and then install the drivers for the card that's installed.

You should have gotten a Dell Resource CD with your computer. The drivers would be on that.

Ok the no device installed problem is fixed but the sound for the mmo doesn't work. When i right click on the screen the option properties doesn't show up cause i got a vista. The way my sound got messed up is my sis clicked on the volume icon and under applications was the mmo and i believe she hit mute. But here's the catch when i click on the icon the mmo doesn't show up under applications what should i do?

You have Vista, yet you posted in the Windows ME Forum. You'll have to reinstall whatever mmo software you installed.
