Hi to Helpers,
OK, I was trying to delete several photos from my Desktop. I got tired. I thought I was using Shift/whatever to hightlight/select several photos at once to delete. When I was done, 7 folders on my Desktop turned into "shortcuts" and are now empty of the contents! How can I restore the original content? Is it gone forever? I can't believe that some version of keyboard 'clicks' made this happen. These were original folders...no content was stored anywhere else....just 7 folders I've been working for a while but hadn't stored them elsewhere or backed them up.

ummm - avoid writing anything to the drive as is - if at all

You will likely need to check out data recovery utils in this case...

is one such utility; and one or two pholks here have recommended some other similar utils too... to good effect.

And a google/yahoo etc. "trawl" using:

get my data back

will bring up more than a few others. Many allow a free trial/test rrun too... so you may be able to do it all that way.

I would try going back to a restore point, if you have not changed alot of files since the last restore. If you have, i would back them up to USB stick/HD and then do the restore point.
