Windows 98 Computer crashed how to restart

Specs: Windows 7
I am running windows 98 my computer has crash used a boot disk to get to the dos prompt trying to run windows from there but no luck can any help

If you haven't backed up and wish to, then boot from a live Linux CD (such as Puppy Linux) and save your own files onto a flash drive. You have to set the CD drive in BIOS to be ahead of the C drive to do this.

Have you tried typing Win (hit Enter key) from the DOS prompt?

If it comes to the crunch reloading Win98 on top usually works out and keeps your own stuff.

What were the symptoms of the 'crash'?

If you don't use a bootdisk but just let it attempt to boot from the hard drive, what happens?
