You will probably need to use this one, it's 18MB so may be the right one including the software. Read the reviews, you're downloading the software at your own risk!

You need to download, unzip, and burn to CD, otherwise the installation will fail. Read the comments.

You don't need special drivers for an optical drive.

Yeah, you don't need drivers; you need burner software.

So sdfox's download didn't work? When you say 'cd creator' what software do you mean, exactly?

Burner software that came bundled with a new recorder often only works for that model. So depending on what you're using that may be the reason.

I believe the 9100 series comprised burners of several different speeds. Is yours the 8 x 4 x 32 shown here:

HP CD-Writer 9100
Model C4460A/B
Drive speed: 8X 4X 32X 8X
HP CD-Writer 9110
Model C4459A
Drive speed: 8X 4X 32X 8X
These CD-Writer drives have an IDE interface, and connect to an available channel on the computer motherboard.
is what i have
and easy cd creator 4.05 software is what i was using before this new install of 98SE

I would install Force Aspi first. 98's native aspi layer is not so good as NT 4.0's 4.60 versions.

Any joy?

Come to think of it I've never installed "CD-burner drivers" on Windows 95. Only installed Nero 5.5.1056, rebooted, and it worked automatically. That has worked for me on Windows 95 for DVD-burners too.
