Where do you want to exit to? Obviously your Windows installation is screwed up...the system is booting to the DOS prompt so that you can repair it. Try typing scanreg /restore & restoring the registry:

The Exit command only applies when you have shut down to MS DOS from Windows.

The Win command from true DOS (which is where you are) would normally start Windows but, as per #1, it probably won't. When you try a scanreg /restore make sure you select a registry dated just before the problem came along.

It's probably not a registry thing so scanreg/restore lilkely won't fix it.

What did you do to it between the last time it worked OK and the first time it didn't?

Post back contents of your config.sys and autoexec.bat. From the c:\> prompt type type config.sys and enter. Then write down what shows on the screen. Then
type autoexec.bat and enter.

Real men don't use AntiVirus; they just reformat
