My (very old) Gateway laptop shows multiple 'desktop' icons across the screen but they are tiny and totally unreadable so I can't use windows and mouse to reset the video display settings. I have obviously chosen the wrong display settings but need to restore the full screen display by using keystrokes. Can anyone help please?
Tap F8 key while booting and (eventually) select Safe Mode from the list.
With luck you will have a readable but large screen. You should then be able to right click desktop and get to Display Properties and alter your settings.
what size is your laptop screen? 1024x768 is the best resolution for laptops in 4:3 aspect ratio. If it's 16:9, use 1280x768.
Yes, it all depends on your laptop screen size. Best results are obtained when the screen is set for its "native resolution". Mine is 1280x800 which is 8:5 ratio (or 16:10).
