|I think you should give up the idea. Installing an old OS on new hardware is problematic at best and that goes double for laptops. One big problem, but not the only one, is driver availability. You certainly won't find them on the Windows 98 CD and it is highly unlikely that HP will have them either. Creating a driver is not simple and manufacturers can't justify the expense of doing so for an obsolete OS with a very small user base.|
You would be much better off installing Windows 7. If you really must run Windows 98 for some purpose you can install it on a virtual machine.
