Specs: Windows XP
I have old dell optiplex gx110 with a hard drive partitioned between Windows 98 and XP. I want to delete Windows 98 and free up the balance of the hard drive for XP. XP currently has 1 gb of free space out of 10 gb's. I have no need for windows 98 which occupies 4 gb on the hard drive with 1 gb of free space.

Are you willing to reinstall XP from scratch?

You can just format the 98 partition from XP's disk management. That will remove the 98. You'd then have the second partition for XP's usage.

You could also remove the 98 partition and ideally expand the XP partition into that space. However the 98 partition is probably the first one on the drive and expanding the XP partition that way might not work. I've never tried it.

Other options are to get another drive and do a selective partiition copy from the old drive to the new one or, as already mentioned, do a fresh install of XP on the drive.
