Given the problems and pitfalls of creating a "Live" disc from a Microsoft OS, it'd be a lot less PITA to just go with a new HDD. Otherwise just Google "Live Win95 CD" or "Live Win98 CD".

If all you need to do is test the trackpad maybe you can just use a 9X bootdisk with added dos drivers for the trackpad. Post back the model number of your laptop so we can see what's available.

I guess micron's out of business. I found this driver site:

http://www.mpcdrivers.com/companyne...

but didn't find any drivers for any item that had 'track' in it. If you have the manual you might check it for a more precise description of it. I don't have the ability to check any further.

You could just spend $5 or so on ebay for a small hard drive to install 95 on. If the trackpad doesn't work then all you've lost is $5

I have downloaded a 95 live cd....it didn't work. Made a 95 live cd...and it didn't work.
Seems to be a driver issue.
