Error running a program on Win95 - 0x80040000 (2147221504)

Specs: Windows 95
Hi, I'm having a problem when trying to open a program on Windows 95. This is a scanning software to activate a laser of a non-contact surface measurement system. This software was pre-installed on the computer, which came with this measurement system when it was purchased and I don't have another copy of the software. It appears that one of the files is corrupt an and the following message appears when I try to run it:

An unexpected error occured during Scan
Code: 0x80040000 (-2147221504)
Desc: DRSensor OCX failed to open

Please let me know if anyone has any advice on how to solve this error

You need to find DRSensor.OCX file and possibly re-register it with:

Regsvr32 drsensor.ocx

typed into the run box. If the file can't be registered you will get an error stating that the entry point could not be found. Otherwise it should report success and perhaps now it will go ahead and work right. And you may need a proper reboot to put the changes into actual effect where they function.

The message you report does not say corrupt file to me, it seems to exist too. But because of improper shutdown perhaps, the registry has been fouled and this file may rely on the proper registry links to be in place in order to function. Re-registering it will put those missing references back into the registry good as new.
