Specs: Windows 3.1
Hi all
Have a CD formulated in 1998 (for win 3.1 or higher). It is a training course. The setup app wont open on my 64bit Win 7 system. The data files are .SMT extensions. Im trying to find a way to convert them to .txt file. Any suggestions

It's going to be about impossible to run a 1998 program directly on a 64 bit system. 32 bit programs will run but not 16 bit or below. Your only chance is running it in some kind of emulator program:

Have you tried running the setup in Compatibility mode?

Thanks for responding Jennifer. Sorry to say I don't know how to do that. I will look it up and try to open that way.

OK I tried the compatibility mode troubleshooter. It told me to open the file but all I get is an error message saying it is incompatible with 32gb or 64b windows.

Thanks anyway.
