Rebooting an old computer to use and it wants a product key for Windows 98. Where can I find a Free Product Key for it? Please and Thank you.
We can't help you with that. Normally I would say buy one from Microsoft which is the only legal way to get one, but they no longer support Windows 98 so that's not possible.
You might find one to bid for on Ebay but it may not be a legal one - you're on your own there.
By 'rebooting' do you really mean reinstalling windows 98? Otherwise it shouldn't be asking for a product key. Other than the google search do you have another 98 machine or does anyone you know have one? There's software that will show the key on a working system. Then you can use it on yours.
But shhhhh--don't tell.
