Specs: Windows 7
I've just been given a TOSHIBA SP42 90 Satellite Pro 4200 windows 98 in very good condition. The only thing is I can't seem to hook it up to my home wireless broadband. It seems to only have a dial up connection option. Am not very good at computers just the basics really. Any help would be appreciated.

That Toshiba model does not have a built-in wireless adapter, but you can buy an external USB wireless adapter for it. Any USB wireless adapter that supports IEEE 802.11g (the most commonly used wireless standard today).

Some of them support the faster "Wireless N" standard as well as 802.11g, so you may want to buy one of those if your router supports the 'N' standard.

Yep, the adapter idea is good. However, if possible try to get one that mentions W98 because they often provide an install CD (or did) for that OS. Hopefully you have W98SE which increases your chances of legacy support. It was only from XP onwards that suitable drivers were included as part of the OS.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
