its very rare for me to check my windows firewall -but something made me suspicious -so I went to check and noticed - windows firewall settings are greyed out-
so I tried to follow this example to try to fix -

I got as far as - If you are the administrator for the computer, restart Windows and log in with your administrator account - I am the Administrator -so then why would the Firewall settings be greyed out in the first place ??? and how do I get a confirmation that Iam Logged in as an administrator ???

My username for my pc - has the following account type - Local account- Administrator - but then I see -Standard is checked -but Administrator is Not- when I try to change it to Administrator - change account type suddenly gets greyed out too - I see a bunch of stuff like microsoft.Bing in the List which I never added and want to remove.

Did you right click on the Firewall icon and select 'open as administrator'? If not the try that.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
