Shutdown and restart your computer (you may have to just press & hold the power button to do this) and when it reboots the system should see that the last start was unsuccessful and attempt a repair. Failing that, restart again and as soon as it starts booting press & hold the shift key and start tapping F8 (this doesn't work on all systems, some still use just the F8 key), this will get you to the 'recovery screen and under 'advanced options' choose 'refresh your pc - this should reset it without losing your files.

It's a samsung chronos 7 windows 8 pre installed, so I have no disc etc , thought upgrading to windows 8.1 would be a good idea, but computer now straight to blue screen , Samsung logo, windows logo loop.... Any other suggestions , much appreciated ! Many thanks
