Solved Windows 8.1 Choose an option screen

July 10, 2015 at 22:30:07
Specs: Windows 8
I got to the "choose an option" screen after pressing the alt F10 button--I was stuck in the"diagnosing your computer" mode....for a long, long time. So now I got to this screen, and I received three options on the screen, Continue, Troubleshoot, and Turn Off PC. I clicked on Troubleshoot. It's highlighted with a white rectangular box around the words, but now it's stuck there. What do I do now?

'Alt F10' is not a keystroke combination that applies to all computers. What PC or laptop model do you have and what are you trying to do with alt F10? What problem were you having that prompted you to use Alt F10

Some diagnostics don't want you to reboot while they're doing their thing so you may want to check the manual for your particular model. But if it really is locked up I guess you have no choice but to reboot.

It's an Acer Aspire E 15, and when I turn it on, it says preparing for repair, then it says diagnosing problems, then it stops right there. So I found advice to click on alt F10 in order to get to troubleshooting page so that I can figure out how to get past where it gets' stuck. Any advice?

✔ Best Answer
Alt+F10 will do a factory recovery, is that what you want to do? All your files will be lost.
