Windows 8 Integrated Cloud Computing Option

February 22, 2011 at 07:00:42
Specs: Windows XP
Windows 8 is rumored to feature completely integrated cloud computing as an option. Do you think people will actually use this, or are users of Windows still so addicted to having "stuff on their hard drive" that adoption of cloud computing - no matter how integrated - is still quite a ways off?

Yes definitely I want to be without a PC/Laptop and use Tablet / Smart Phone / InternetTV

The forthcoming Google Chrome OS is Cloud Linked, see:

The machine boots straight into Chrome Browser and interacts with the Cloud, COOL BEANS !!

The next sensible step towards cloud computing is window 8 while giving users options on how they want to do that...People will go through this very fast as compares to other windows.......

Having had a bad experience with iCloud (don't use it if you are running Outlook!!) I won't be in too much of a rush to make use of Microsoft's offering. If you have an apple device you'll know that just about every piece of software you install wants the option to be able to track you, even silly little games ask. Microsoft is obviously going the same way & I, for one, will not be automatically clicking the 'I agree' button.

The other reason is that the infrastructure just isn't robust enough yet - look at the recent outages that have occurred with Blackberry and O2 - anyone relying on a decent internet connection would be totally screwed...
