Windows 7 on win 8 hp C50D A

Specs: Windows 8, Intel core 2 Duo E8200 / 4Gb I think DDR2
I recently bought the hp C50D for a basic laptop for work ( truck driver away in truck all week ) I have no time in the week to learn a new os and definatly no time to mess about trying to speed everything up, I have also doubled the memory as only 1 slot was used, one thing is for sure win8 is a marmite os , some like it some ( if not most ) hate it so I have tried changing to 7 following this tutorial http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,281...

the tutorial worked but windows came up with an error after expending files, I got back into win8 then retried by running setup from the win7 install disk instead.

everything was going fine, windows restarted and tried to restart but hung for half an hour on the windows logo " starting windows "

I held power button in for a few seconds to shut down and retry but now it wont let me do anything exept resume setup ( still hangs ) or start windows 8

All I want to do is wipe the drive, setup 2 partitions 300GB C and 200GB D , install 7 on C and enjoy a much faster os

can anyone please help me with this ?

oh also I tried swapping the hdd for another and I got the message " no boot device found "

I retried installing win 7 again while in windows 8 from my computer>cd drive and kept my eyes on the screen :D ..

I got the white text when it restarted saying " press any key to boot from cd " which you ignor so you don't go around in circles all day, it then showed the screen giving 2 options " resume setup " or " Windows 8 " , it is that screen where I am screwed because leaving to resume it hangs as mentioned at the start , choosing windows 8 will just get me back to win8

is there anyway to disable that step so it just starts win7? or to wipe the disk and have the 2 partitions would be prefered
