Why won't my Nook HD pick up on my wifi?

Specs: windos 8.1
I have a NOOK HD. It works fine in B&N but not at home. It registers my wifi. wifi works on the 2 computers well,. However, the nook will not sign on to my wifi. Password and address are correct

The names some of these wee gadgets have... Nanook of the north was coming to mind when I saw "Nook"...

B&N I presume is Barnes & Noble...; and likely they have a more or less open wifi system for customer use. They almost certainly will have another more secure one for staff/business use...

Is your home wifi using any form of access control; Mac filtering at the least?

Can you logon to your router's wifi section (admin pages) and check to see if there is any form of restriction in force?

Typically it can be MAC filtering - only those MAC addresses listed may connect; or those MAC addresses listed may "not" connect.

Also does your Nook use the same encryption control the router is set to use - the form of password that is set in the router - WPA and/or assorted variations?

What make and model is your router?
