Solved Why the Uninstall utility no allowing to uninstall?

February 26, 2016 at 05:57:57
Specs: Windows 8, i5 2.3GHz / 8GB
The Uninstall utility in Control Panel >> Program & Features does not allow to uninstall.

Whenever I select an application and click Uninstall, I would get a warning message:

"Please wait until the current program is finished uninstalling or being changed."

At odd times discharging the motherboard components can help unstick things. At least it is quick and easy to try as a first attempt, like this:

Turn off computer and unplug power cable. If it is a laptop remove the main battery too. Before putting it back together hold the Power Off/On button down for at least 20 seconds.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

It worked! Thanks.

But what was the reason behind it????

I doubt we will ever really know the reason. Something got stuck during an uninstall or change but when the computer was turned off the capacitors in the motherboard held the charge up and the chips remembered it. Maybe it was a power blip.

That fix doesn't often work but it kinda smelt like it might on this occasion.

I doubt if the problem will come back again but if so we'll have to look deeper.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
