They are most likely not compatible with Windows 8.
Windows 8 architecture is considerably different to that of Windows XP and you probably need to upgrade to the latest versions of those games.

Did you try them in compatibility mode?

Win 8 rejects 16 bit stuff of-course but I've found it surprisingly tolerant of old programs.

I'm not a gamer but maybe the names of the games would help if someone else looks at this post.

EDIT:
Found this in relation to another post - might be of interest:

Another thought is that it might be a permissions issue. Try installing them somewhere in your user area rather than in "Program Files (x86)".

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

You didn't list the system specs or any game titles. Maybe your Win8 system isn't a gamer? We have no idea what you have or what you've tried so far. How about WinXP compatibility mode, have you tried that?

Greetings,

Make sure that you have the most up to date drivers for all of your hardware including video card and chipset. Additionally, make sure you have windows update enabled, there has been a lot of patching and bug fixes being released as of late. (Windows key + F opens the search charm, select "Settings" as your criteria and then type windows update, go in and configure your system to update.

Please reply with any updates.

I'm here to help,

Did you save your old XP Computer? If so use it for the games. Or if it was me I would sell the one you have and buy one with XP or 7.
