Why can't my laptop install anything? - Windows 10

Specs: Windows 8, Intel i7 4510U / 4GB
Hi-ho.
For some reason, my laptop doesn't install anything...
It can connect to the internet fine - I can watch videos and go on websites, I can even download files, but when I try to install something, it doesn't work.
I've seemed to noticed that the errors talk about connection issues. For example, I've been trying to install/update adobe flash player, and it says "Connection failed"
Also I've been trying to install Toon Boom Harmony, and it says there is trouble connecting to the server. Even when trying to install Opera, the progress bar just never progresses aha

I don't believe it has anything to do with my internet because I've tried to install things on my desktop PC and have had success doing so. SO I'm guessing it has to do with my laptop

I'm guessing it has to do with Windows 10. Are you running it on the laptop & desktop too?

Go to Device Manager and see if there are any errors showing in "Network adapters".

Also look in "Control Panel > Network and sharing center > Change adapter settings" and see what devices are showing. If you right click it/them and it shows "Disable" it means it/they are enabled (it's a toggle). What you deduce there depends on your situation. You could be using Wifi or Ethernet - maybe both will be showing.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Long shot buy turn the router off for about half a minute, wait for it to come fully up again and see if it is any better.

Otherwise if you have an alternative browser does it do the same on that?

It wouldn't hurt to run these two freebies just to see if they find anything. If they do, please copy/paste the logs on here.

AdwCleaner:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/dow...
(blue Download button near top - not anything else on the page).
Download and "Save" the file somewhere. Go to the saved file then double click it to run the program. Use the "Scan" button, followed by the "Cleaning" button.

Junkware Removal Tool (JRT)
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/dow...
(blue Download button near top - not anything else on the page).
Download and "Save" the file somewhere. Go to the saved file then double click it to run JRT. It might appear to have stopped at times or flash the screen but sit tight until it has finished.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
