Solved Why can't I download anything on my computer?

August 28, 2014 at 09:27:01
Specs: Windows 7
I save the program and run it. It loads for a bit then says "File Failed" It happens with everything, and I don't know what's wrong. It all started 2 days ago. Sometimes my computer even freezes and then crashes. Now the programs I already have are freezing and won't load at all, even though it says it's loading.

✔ Best Answer
Test the RAM & the system HDD, both of which can cause data corruption if they are faulty.

RAM test:

HDD test using drive maker's diagnostic software for DOS:

If it's a WD HDD, the link is here:

use ImgBurn to create a bootable CD from any of the above CD image files:

Then boot your computer from the CD to run the relevant test.

As regards the RAM test, test each RAM module on it's own so you'll know which one needs replacing if memtest reports errors.

Best check out #1 first but a virus is possible. It would be interesting to see if this freebie finds anything (often finds and fixes what AV's miss);
Download from green button top right, Install, Update and Run.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

I use this for testing. Just put it on a thumb/usb drive. Change the bios to boot from it.

Lazesoft Recovery Suite Home

Use the tool this way.
