Solved Where can I find device drivers windows 8

Seagate hard drive / St3331ac-m
December 29, 2012 at 09:48:00
Specs: Windows 8, AMD/4 GB

Right out of the blue with unknown reasons, I keep receiving warnings about a USB device not being recognized by Windows 8.

1.) I went to Windows Update, but had no luck.
2.) I deleted this file in Device Manager and rebooted the system, still no luck, the file cannot be found.
3.) This recalcitrant device driver is about to drive me nuts!
It seems like I have one of two options available to me, and these options are thus:
A.) Run Windows 8 Repair Disc
B.) Reinstall Win8 with no-reformat, nondestructive reinstall and during the install it will ask for two install options wherein at this point I will be telling Win8 a little white lie…that I’d prefer an Upgrade, when in fact I am NOT doing an upgrade, thereby leaving all of my programs, files, and file settings etc, intact It worked on Win 7 and should work on Win 8.

Thanks in advance for any help you may have available about other options in this matter.

✔ Best Answer
The error seems to be referring to an external USB device, not the USB ports.
Without knowing what the actual device is, it's difficult to know what advice to give.
If the device is a Seagate external hard drive, the driver may be on the Seagate website:

Or it may not be a driver issue at all. The external device itself may be faulty.

Thanks goes tp phil22.

For some unknown reason the error message about a missing driver gas gone away.Funny thing is this: The listings or folders under Device Manager have one called "Other devices" and it is not listed anymore and that include trash it contained. Good riddance!

Thanks much,
