It was an unusual symptom so glad to hear Reset fixed it. If you care to select a Best Answer it will mark this thread as solved. Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
yes it opens a touchscreen window like windows 8 but it still has windows xp pro operating system kind of wondered why this got moved to windows 8 forums just wondering how to fix thanks Davidw
Could you add a screenshot so that we can see this thing that looks like the Win 8 Start Screen? Thx. Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
Your mention of Windows 8 in the body of your question but no mention of XP caused a confusion and a moderator moved the post to Windows 8 apparently. Are you by chance in Full screen mode in your browser?
You might have changed (or something changed) your home page to multiple home pages (Firefox allows this). Just close any extra pages, Go to Tools>Internet Options and click "Use Current Page" on the general tab to select your preferred home page. You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
no i not in full screen mode. i tried use current page and closed firefox then reopened it and this time 3 browsers came up .did use current page again with the 2 browsers instead of just one. cant do a screen shot sorry Davidw

In options (Firefox tab -> Options) under the "General" tab there is a drop down box asking what firefox should do when it starts. It usually defaults to "Show my home page", however "Show my windows and tabs from last time" could be causing this behaviour.

thanks but it is set to show my home page.guess if push came to shove ill remove mozilla and reload it but i hate to go that much trouble if i dont have to Davidw
Do you get this strange screen in Internet Explorer too? If not then first try the Firefox Reset:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/k...If you eventually have to uninstall Firefox and reload it, that's no big deal.
Is the reason you can't produce a screen shot that you don't know how, or is it that you prefer not to?
