My brother was messing with my HP laptop, and did a factory reset. now I cant get back onto windows 8. it's stuck in a loop.
I can't do anything with my computer now. it's stuck on a screen that gives me different options to do different things such as another factory restore, exit and continue to windows 8 (which doesnt work. it gets stuck in a repair loop) I just really need help. my laptop didnt come with any discs. and i just want to cry.
hey guys. its OP here. turns out someone unplugged my computer while it was doing the factory reset. I tried doing another one before i posted this question. anyway, the factory reset worked. thanks for all your help :)
Sometimes you get an option to create a restore on a disk or flash drive when you get the computer. I assume either this was not an option or you hadn't gotten around to it. Try this:
Turn off computer and disconnect from power. If at all possible remove the main laptop battery too. Before re-assembling hold the Power Off/On button down for at least 20 seconds which discharges the motherboard components. It's a long shot but it might just get it out of the loop. If not give us the model number of your laptop (might be written underneath).
Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Since your brother already triggered the factory reset, you most likely lost everything. Hopefully you have backups? Try this: “To access the HP System Recovery, turn on the computer and immediately press the ESC key to display the Startup Menu, and then press the F11 key.”
