W8 Toshiba laptop won't boot - BIOS & media failure

January 1, 2016 at 13:31:18
Specs: Toshiba
Be gateful if anyone can help, I'm having a problem with getting the laptop to boot and start up, it came pre-loaded so have no disc, it also looks like I'm missing half the info that should be showing in BIOS, only have it a few months, between that and poxy windows 8, I'm beginning to think I've been rightly ripped off! Is there anything can be done without a disc to solve this, took battery out as well, still no luck, thanks to anyone that can help

Yes, possibly a BIOS boot sequence entry but it could be a hardware failure. As given, return it if possible.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Thanks guys, i,d like to try and reboot if possible as i haven't backed
up info saved on it yet, other wise at this point I,d be asking for a refund rather than a replacement, i think this model has be discontinued as well. But thank you for answering

I assume by reboot (which just means restarting) you mean factory restore. Fine so long as nothing happens when you try that voids warranty.

Factory Restore will sure lose your stuff.

As you are struggling at times to get past BIOS then a hardware fault is most likely. In which case restoring it might not help.

There might well be a restore partition on it but we would need the model number to assist on that. If you Google with the make and model number there is probably a manual online that gives the Toshiba info.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
