Solved usb drive is not showing drive in windows

February 12, 2015 at 12:40:04
Specs: Windows 8.1 32 bit, Core2Duo 2.0 GHz / 2 GB
When I plug-in my Kingston data traveler usb 8 gb in my computer. It doesn't show a drive. while it can be seen in "Devices and Printers". http://i.imgur.com/6TFfmBm.jpg

It was working on the same PC before I used rufus_v1.3.4 to make a win 8 bootable usb. rufus asked me to replug usb and after that it is not working.

usb is working fine on another PC with showing old files.
Kindly help.

Can you see it under "Disk Managment"?

Right click on the start button and go to "Disk Managment"

There you will see a list of disks and partitions.

If the flash drive shows up, check that a valid drive letter has been assigned to it (D to Z I think is the accepted range?)

"usb is working fine on another PC with showing old files"
Format it whilst it is plugged into that comp.

"I have formatted the usb on another PC"

Use FAT32 unless you plan on storing files larger than 4GB.

Before all this happened PC 1 and PC 2 showing the same usb drive. both have windows 8.1 32 bit.
Then I used rufus_v1.3.4 on PC 1, to make a win 8 bootable usb. rufus asked me to replug usb and after that it is NOT showing in "my computer". PC 1 is showing http://i.imgur.com/6TFfmBm.jpg
While I have tried different usb ports.

PC 2 is showing usb drive before and after.
