the sound on my toshiba video player is breaking up

Specs: Windows 8
ive been using my laptop to watch a lot of dvd's lately and the sound quality is getting worse all the time its at the stage now where i cant understand a single word can you tell me whats happening please

Plug in a set of earphones. If these playback ok, then it's likely your laptop's speakers are shot.
Laptop speakers are poor quality at the best of times. I find it better to use earphones or an external USB speaker system.

Either you Laptop speaker is broken or has a problem in driver.

-try to go to device manager then go to audio input and output press right click then plug and play and check the updated softwares that is installed to your laptop.

if it doesnt work try this one

-Go to Start Type Troubleshooting then click Hardware and sound the click Troubleshoot audio playback .
