Sound problem in Windows 8

Specs: Windows 8, 4GB
Ive got a new pc running windows 8(what a load of s---e) i use windows media player to play my music files when a tune is playing and the bass kicks in the volume seems to throttle back and the sound gos up and down as if the pc is trying to auto level but all settings are in the off position??? Its sending me loopy try to sort it out

What sound package are you using? I would suspect a problem with that rather than WMP. Could be a settings issue and maybe there is an icon provided for it (or is that where you've already set everything to off?).

not sure what you mean by sound package but the default sound is realtec hd audio and wmp its self...as for settings ive got the auto level in wmp turned off plus in sound settings ive turned off "if communication is detected" (using Skype ect) lower all other sounds by 80%...ps to clarifiy a bit better the sound which is played thru sound out(pc) into a amp then onto my speakers...now imagine uv got ur finger on the amp vol and as the music is playing ur turning the sound up and down ie up count to 1 down count to 1 up down up down ect ect ive tried my iphone thru the amp plus my tv works fine as well plus this didn't happen with my old pc(dell) oh yes it does not seem to effect video files only mp3.....cheers people ur help is wickedly appreciated

Your sound system is Realtek (WMP is only a "player").

I am suspecting the problem is with Realtek. Have a look in Device Manager (Windows key + X) to see if there are any errors showing against sound. Check with Realtek to see if there has been a sound driver update
