Quick fix: get on someone else's computer for the coupons if possible.

Go to "Control Panel > Java > Update tab > Update Now button".

If that doesn't help, from the same place open the General tab, hit the About button and let us know what version is showing. Also in the Security tab make sure there is a check mark in "Enable Java content in the browser" and the security slider is in the middle position - marked High & Recommended.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

That is Java development kit. Is that what you need and what is showing in Control Panel - About?

The current version of Java is 7 update 71.

Is Java Deployment Kit what you need? Not something I use or know much about. Mostly folk use ordinary Java, which you can check and obtain here:
http://www.java.com/en/download/ins...

Unless you have some specific need for the deployment kit (which is largely for developers) then I think it would be worth uninstalling all Java version from "Control Panel > Programs and Features" then getting just the standard one from the above link.

This page should refresh and display information about your environment in 10-60 seconds. If it takes longer, Java may be disabled in the browser or failed to start, or you may have chosen not to run the Java detection application in the security prompt.

Is the website one you have to sign into? If not give us a link to the page. I am on Win 8.1 64 bit too so it would be interesting to see how I get on. I've IE11 and Chromium (similar to Chrome). I assume you have the latest browser versions.

The plot thickens. I have Java disabled in all browsers. I forgot to enable it and went to your link in IE and it opened fine in IE. Did it fail at the very first page for you?

Very few websites actually need Java these days so I prefer not to take the security risk unless it is absolutely necessary.

I'm not sure what is going on. This sounds crazy but go to "Control Panel > Java > Security tab" and uncheck "Enable Java content in the browser at the top". Let us know what happens then when you go to the website.

Your version 7-71 is quite normal and you should have no need for that deployment kit.

I kinda understand that. I only tested it by going to the home page in your link. Did you go further before you received the Java message?

OK, well if the first page opens fine for you then I obviously can't check further. It is of-course possible that Java is required for that next step - seems like it.

Clutching at straws now. There have been a couple of Windows Updates today and I have a sneaky feeling they might have fixed the odd bug due to those on 9th Dec. Go to Windows Update and then, important, "Check for updates whatever is showing". If there are any then get them, restart afterwards and re-check your website.

See #16 above first.

Here's another tid bit of info. When I go to that home page on Chromium (which isn't quite Chrome but nearly) this is what it says at the top of the page:

"Sorry. Our coupons don't seem to work very well with Chrome. Switching to another browser like Firefox or Safari should get you back on track in no time".

Something of an admission so I'm now wondering if this is just an IE issue and that Chrome is rickety. You could try IE Reset but although you keep your Favorites you lose your addons until they come back again with time. This could affect Java I guess.
If you want to try it disable Java in browser first from the Control Panel. Now from IE go to Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Reset button. After it has finished go back and re-enable Java in browsers.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
