Specs: Windows 8.1, Intel I5/ 8 Gb
I put my Notebook Lenovo G580 Model 20157 to sleep in windows 8.1 64 bit, and became the sleeping beauty, never wake up. The three leds in the front of the PC was flashing as soon as I turn it on, then decide to took out the HDD, with disk-part in other pc, clean its partitions, and with the install disk try to install the system. Then the Bios wake up normally, but looks locked cause don´t let me install the system, it tried to reading the DVD, but then freezes. So I tried to flash the Bios, but Lenovo only give then to run under Windows. How can I convert this flash to run in MS-DOS mode? Cause with a Hiren Boot CD, I can run MS-DOS without problem.
Thanks for any help.

Silly question maybe but did you set the CD/DVD drive in BIOS ahead of the HD?

Best avoid flashing BIOS unless there is an update to cure the exact problem you are having. They normally don't need updating and if anything goes wrong you brick your motherboard.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Is not a silly question at all, but the answer is Yes did that first, the problem is that Bios recognize all without hesitation, but when installing is were it freezes, stop reading the DVD and don´t do nothing more. The same happends with a USB booting to install de OS, in these case go further, it shows the windows 8 logo and freezes there. That´s the main so to my acknowlege the BIOs is blocked.

Could be a RAM issue:

Do you have more than one stick of RAM installed? Try removing one or the other for a successful boot.

Hopefully it is simply a RAM issue.

Cleaning the connectors and reseating might help.
