Hi,
when l used my office program recently, l cant use any of the programs. When l open, for instance on of my spread sheets in Excel, a window comes up saying Office 2000 Registration Wizard, asking.......Would you like to register your copy of office 2000 Premium with microsoft? yes or no.
lve had my copy of windows for 13 years now, and this has never happened before, l contacted microsoft but, not heard back l deleted it from my computer, fully, then reinstalled it again, but the same problem comes up again. please how can l get it working properly again...........

If only all computers were easy it fix or never went wrong, we'd never have forums to help

I recently reinstalled Office SBS 2003 and repeatedly received a message to ‘license’ my Office system.

If this is the same message as you are receiving, you need to run one of the Office programs as the administrator.

This is achieved by navigating to C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office xx (xx was 11 in my case), scroll down to EXCEL.EXE, right-click it and select Run as Administrator. You only need to do this once to eliminate the message.

Hopefully the above will help but I notice you say you've had your ". . .copy of windows for 13 years. . .". Of course windows 7 wasn't around then or maybe you mean you've had that office disk for 13 years. But I'm wondering if the problem started after you upgraded your OS or if the office 2000 was a new install on the windows 7 machine. And I wonder if it is compatible with a 64-bit OS.

Office 2000 doesn't need to be registered and I can't remember if I was asked that the last time I installed it. What happens if you answer 'no'?

Also there's a couple updates you may need it yours is an older version:

O2kSp3.exe
o2ksr1adl.exe

The first is an sp3 update for office 2000 and the second is a file you need to install prior to that if sr1 isn't already installed. Here's a note I made to myself on that:

Install o2ksr1adl.exe only if sr1 isn't already installed.
To check look in add/remove programs. If it's not
installed, install it before the sp3 update.

If you need those files you can probably google them for a download site.

Thank you both so much for your help

Through the years, l have upgraded my system with, on my desktop, Win xp, win vista, win 7 and now win 8.1 on my laptop. office has always worked, after a windows update.

If only all computers were easy it fix or never went wrong, we'd never have forums to help
