No Bootable Device. Hit any key

October 11, 2013 at 06:40:02
Specs: Windows 8
I have an Acer Travelmate B113. When I power up it gives me the No Bootable Device window. After I press a key it goers to Boot Manager and gives me the options of where to boot from but NON of them work. Options are external CDROM (attached), Network Boot and HDD.. Selecting any of them goes back to the No Bootable Device window. Help

I can not use the F2 or F12 keys as it goes right to this No Bootable Device window, can not access BIOS

Well the CD-ROM boot option won't work if there's no bootable CD in the drive, so that's normal.

It appears your HDD may have failed. Test it with either SeaTools for DOS bootable CD, or Hitachi Drive Fitness Test for DOS (bootable CD).

SeaTools for DOS: http://www.seagate.com/gb/en/suppor...

Hitachi DFT for DOS: http://www.hgst.com/support/downloa...

you will of course need to use a working PC to create the bootable CD.

made the Seagate bootable CD and tried to start the computer. Boot manager sees the CD but still no boot.
