Solved My Thunderbird -BT Mail will not send messages

May 2, 2015 at 09:17:00
Specs: Windows 8.1
a week ago it didn't send messages but still received them. This was said to be because I was using an insecure connection. I followed the instructions given about passwords but I hadn't realised I had an email password. I am old (87) and the person who installed the software must have set a password and I am unable to get it. 2 people have tried to help me; each has set a new password, but the result has been that I now have BT Mail and Local Folders, each with its own menu. At present I am receiving messages in BT Mail; my lists of previous sent messages appear in Local Folders box, and I am unable to send any new messages. I would be most grateful if you could help me to restore the system to its previous satisfactory state. ( Drafts are saved in Local Folders)

✔ Best Answer
Contact BT and they should help you get it working by doing all the setup on your PC with a remote connection.
