✔ Best Answer
Might well be due to overheating... Are the cooling vents free of all dust etc.?

Those vents easily clog up on many laptops over time.

There is a cooling vent on the left hand side; and there may be one on the right (though the manual doesn't seem to show it); and there are some on the base...

Get a can of compressed air and blow it through all vents. But first remove all power - battery included.

If you're OK at going inside - a little...; remove the covers which hide the memory and if possible the hard drive too; the battery you will have already removed....

Blow air in through there as well; or having removed those covers - blow the air through the various vents; as it will obviously find its way out through the open cavities (where you have removed the cover(s)).

This is the manual for your Toshiba; worth having a browse at least - especially with regards to air vents and so on?

And remember that laptops don't like soft fluffy surfaces; they prefer solid surfaces which allow air to flow freely underneath the laptop. Sitting one on one's knees is nice and convenient; but the laptop really doesn't like it too often... If you have to have it on your knee - use a board, a tray, or something similar on which to place it first?

"No it doesn't freeze on safe mode"
That suggests you may have a driver problem.

Laptop freezing happens due to the following reasons:

Overheating due to non-maintenance of laptop
Insufficient RAM
Software Issue (Can range from BIOS setting being corrupted to viruses and malware in your system)
So check which of the above reasons is affecting your computer.

If it is overheating, get it serviced from the official service center.
If the available RAM is less, do upgrade your RAM and uninstall unwanted software that runs at computer startup or disable them at startup
If this is a software issue, again you need to go to the service center if you are not able to diagnose and resolve software related problems.
