Solved Missing Java tried everything.

June 13, 2014 at 06:28:49
Specs: Windows 8
Not only have I uninstalled and reinstalled Java and it shows in programs, when I click it, it says The system cannot find the file specified, yet when tried again without the uninstall to check it says it already exist do you want to replace it . So I hit yes, get congrats and go to Pogo and it says I need Java. This is the 3rd day any new ideas? I even did system restore yesterday .

✔ Best Answer
Did you download the installer from www.java.com ???
Try uninstalling again, run Malwarebytes (just to make sure malware is not the problem blocking it from working), make sure all of your browsers are closed --- better yet, restart the machine and as soon as it settles down, try installing it again.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

1: RunTFC

http://oldtimer.geekstogo.com/TFC.exe
http://www.itxassociates.com/OT-Too...
Please double-click TFC.exe to run it. Note: If you are running on Vista/Windows 7/8, right-click on the file and choose Run As Administrator).
It will close all programs when run, so make sure you have saved all your work before you begin.
Click the Start button to begin the process. Depending on how often you clean temp files, execution time should be anywhere from a few seconds to a minute or two. Let it run uninterrupted to completion.
Once it's finished it should reboot your machine. If it does not, please manually reboot the machine yourself to ensure a complete clean.

I tried every suggestion on this page. Had to call my administrator to get back online. However it still is not enabled on browser and I still can't get the Java control panel to open up to enable it. When I click it in the programs it still does nothing. If I right click on it I see Java and Java Control Panel but only for less than a second but it won't let me choose either one, it goes away right away. Thanks all.

I have no idea what they did LOL. I do know that they also tried a lot of things until they each had to get another one more experienced than themselves. They did it through remote control I assume. I watched the whole time and got angry and tired at the process. Cost a pretty penny but it's done and I am grateful.
