Solved left click with wireless mouse doesn't work

October 24, 2013 at 12:37:18
Specs: Windows 8
About 3 months ago I started having problems with the left click on my wireless mouse. It works some of the time, but it seems that when I what to go to a link on a page it will not work.
I tried a wired mouse and had the same results.
Please advise.

Is it only web hyperlinks that are affected? If so, it's not your mouse.
What happens when you click on a hyperlink? Just saying "it will not work" does not really help us to solve your problem, we need to know what happens.

An example: While in Hotmail I am unable to left click to tell it to print. While on travel websites I will submit dates for availability. When I left click to submit the dates it does nothing. The page stays the same. I have found that in some instances I can right click and tell it to open, but sometimes it doesn't give you the option to open when I right click.
This started in the past 3 months or so. Was there an update sent for Windows 8 that may have made this happen?

If it only ever happens when you are online and if you are using Internet Explorer you have two options - could try both:

1. Temporarily install Firefox to see if the same happens on there. That would prove whether or not it is a browser issue.

2. You could try IE Reset:
IE > Internet Options > Advanced > See Reset button.
This will remove customizations and addons but the addons come back after a bit of usage.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Thank you for your help. Once I reset Internet Explorer it worked like it has before. This is my first time on this website and I am very happy with the help I was given.

Thanks again.
