Specs: Windows 7
my acer laptop keeps saying no bootable device please restart system, how do I fix it ?

The model number might have been more useful than all those question marks.

You have posted on the Windows 8 forum yet you say Windows 7, which is it?

Possibly hard disk failure but try this:

Check if you forgot a normal ( nonbootable ) CD / DVD disk in the DVD drive or a normal ( nonbootable ) USB flash disk or SD card attached while your computer is booting. If this is the case, remove the DVD disk/USB flash disk and reboot.

Now you can get into BIOS and give the HDD/SSD boot priority.

If this is not the case, please advise. I suggest you follow Derek's way.
