Specs: Windows 8.1 , Intel R Core; 2 Duo CPUl 4.0 GN; 64 bits
I went to Properties, Navigation and Start Screen
but the box to click " to show my desktop background on start" is not highlighted; therefore
I cannot click that box. The Other boxes on the Start Screen or Corner Navigation section are
highligthed.

What or where do I go to highlight box so I can do
what I want to do?

✔ Best Answer
Make sure your installation of Windows 8 is activated through Product Activation.
Open the "file manager" and right-click on "This PC"
Click on "Properties".
Scroll down and make sure the system recognizes it has been activated.

If it is already activated, go to:

Change PC Settings -> Ease of Access -> Other Options -> Show Windows Background (turn on).

Hi phil22, Thanks. Now I have my background working! I tried working on this "big"
problem for a while before I asked that question on line.

I remember you helping me several times before. Glad for your help again.
