I am trying to find NotePad on Windows 8. I can't find it but I have found OneNote. Are they the same with different names?

You should be able to find it in Search (new magic start menu). However, this is the file path to the NotePad file:
C Drive > Windows > Notepad.exe

You could make a shortcut to the notepad.exe file on your desktop then drag it onto the Quick Launch bar bottom left. It is a very useful place for it as it can then be used everywhere including the internet. If you right click the file and create a shortcut it will offer to put it on the desktop for you as it is not allowed from within the Windows folder.

NotpPad is a simple but very useful text editor. One Note does a whole heap more, see here:

EDIT:
I've assumed your system drive is C, as mostly, but if not it will be the same path for another drive letter.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
