Specs: Windows 10
Old applications are not really necessary to keep hanging on to are they? Once it has been applied, is there any need for them? WINDOWS 10

Once it has been applied, is there any need for them?

Not sure I follow this sentence...

General rule of thumb s to remove unused/unwanted applications - via the Add/Remove programmes option, or a designated uninstall routine. Not essential too but it does free up drive space?

If you are including Windows.old, here is how to use the built in Windows clean up tool.

If you have lots of disk space why are you worrying about it?

If you are talking about downloaded and Saved files, which were used during setup, then you don't have to keep them unless you wish to in case of a subsequent install. They can be deleted.

If you want to remove an installed program because it is no longer required then this must be properly Uninstalled from "Control Panel > Programs and features", not just Deleted from the file system.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

I was speaking of downloads in the downloads folder (applications). These are the files I was wanting to delete. I hate clutter. I subscribe to less-is-more.
