" I want to open IE without ninemsn as default".
In the address bar of IE type in the web address of what you want IE to open with and launch it. You should now see your favourite web page.
On the right hand side of IE, at the top, you will see a "House" icon, right click on it and select Menu Bar. Menu Bar will now display in IE.
Click on Tools and select Internet Options and a new window will appear.
Under General, Home Page just click on "Use Current" and then OK and from then on your favourite website will appear each time you launch IE.

If you are not happy with Windows 8 you could always use this:
http://www.classicshell.net/

Alternatively use the desktop rather than the new Start Menu and organise yourself with folder groups with shortcuts to your most used places. There are desktop versions of most programs including Internet Explorer.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
