Solved how to sucessfully return hp laptop to factory settings

Specs: windows 10 64 bit, 4gig
it has already had windows 10 upgrade from windows 8.1 now it' s been several months this way trying to sell it.but i have tried and it wont go back and right now it has got no screen savor in the windows 10 that]s on t from reset?

Couldn't you just download the ISO image for Windows 10 and reinstall it from scratch. It will detect the key when you start the install but you choose to do a completely fresh install instead of the upgrade install or repair install. Download here:

Ty riider for the reply still trying i just wondered if windows 10 upgrade was in it awhile if i lost the windows 8.1 factory reset?

Did you overwrite the Win8 restore partition when you installed Win10?

I'm not sure if i did or not my luck i did.Is there any way if i did to restore it or not?Or where can i check if it's still there.

Failing finding a recovery partition for the original installation ... you could use that original win-8.1 key to install a version downloaded from the web. You likely need an OEM version, as that's what usually comes with pre-installed systems.
