Hey tracer96, you're very insightful. I am the oldest brother of three brothers. I have a lot of experience with things brothers do to each other. That's why I say you have your hands full. You don't have to pick "best answer", but it's up to you, I won't be offended if you pick Xpuser. We're all here to help. Good Luck to you.

Best way is to give your brother his own user account and don't allow him to make any changes to the machine. You should be the administrator and have full control over the system. If you don't mind him watching movies, but the sound bothers you, use headphones. If you don't want him in the computer at all, password the login and don't let him use it. Hope this helps.

Well well #grasshopper thanks for your suggestions!!! but the problem is not that i dont want him to watch movies but there is a limit. He watches almost 4 movies a day!! and when i have some blogging work to do!! he wont let (its irritating when your watching movie and someone interupts you). That is the scene.
I tried using password but he in-return removes one of the power cable of monitor or cpu n hides it in house. He isnt technicaly smart. So i want to do something that there is some technical things which could let him watch movie but sound should be there.(to which he will no more watch movies)

Hope You Got My Point!!!

'So i want to do something that there is some technical things which could let him watch movie but sound should be there.'
You mean sound should NOT be there I presume?

Try that link and see if it works for you....if it doesn't, you may have to disable your soundcard.

I don't know what to say. He may not be tech savvy, but he sounds like he's street smart. Removing the cables and hiding them is creative, but stupid. Other than what XpUser suggests, compromise and communication seem to be the only solution. Work out a deal with him where you limit the time he can watch movies. I don't know your financial situation, but he could buy his own machine. Sharing doesn't always work, especially when one person isn't willing. Sounds like you'll have your hands full on this issue. Good Luck.
